Cambridge connections
What do the following have in common?
Allama Iqbal, Zadie Smith, Kwame Anthony Appiah, Dianne Abbott MP, Jahawarial Nehru, Rt. Rev. John Sentamu, Archbishop of York, Amartya Sen, Nelson Mandela, Thandie Newton, George Augustus Polgreen Bridgetower)
Answer — they have all either lived or worked in Cambridge,

Nelson Mandela has never lived in Cambridge. To suggest that Nelson Mandela has worked in Cambridge because he is an Honorary Fellow at Magdalene College is ridiculous – he visited for a day and was given an award. The college also has a scholarship named after him and he allowed the college to use his name for that.
I do not disagree that this is a “Cambridge Connection”, but to describing it as working in Cambridge is misleading and an massive exaggeration.
